Process Specialist - Ester Technology
Join Perstorp as a Process Specialist in Ester Technology. Focus on optimizing production, solving challenges, and aligning technology with market needs.
Do you thrive at the intersection of technology and strategy?
At Perstorp, we’re looking for a Process Specialist passionate about chemistry to take our ester production to the next level. This is a role for someone who combines technical expertise with the ability to see the bigger picture—someone who understands chemical plants and processes, and can connect technology with market needs.
You’ll join a team of driven professionals, working close to both operations and business to optimize production, innovate solutions, and support our growth in ester manufacturing. The role offers international exposure, opportunities to influence, and the chance to make a real difference in a forward-thinking environment.
About the position
As a Process Specialist, you’ll have the chance to work on a mix of hands-on process improvements and broader strategic projects. Your role will focus on optimizing ester production, solving challenges, and collaborating with teams across the organization.
One day you might be troubleshooting a production issue at a site, and the next, you’re brainstorming with business teams about how to align production capabilities with customer needs. You’ll work closely with colleagues across technology, operations, and business, supporting everything from plant optimization to the design of new facilities.
The work is varied and meaningful, and you’ll be supported by experienced colleagues who are passionate about what they do. Based in either Stenungsund, Malmö, or Amsterdam, the role offers flexibility in location and travel, with plenty of opportunities to contribute to exciting projects both locally and internationally.
What will you do?
You’ll take on a variety of tasks that blend technical expertise with strategic collaboration, including:
- Troubleshooting production issues and finding practical ways to improve efficiency and quality.
- Collaborating with business teams to understand customer needs and translate them into production capabilities.
- Supporting chemical plant operations, both on-site and remotely, with technical advice and hands-on problem-solving.
- Driving innovation by contributing to the design and development of new facilities and technologies.
- Connecting with colleagues across Europe, sharing knowledge, and aligning best practices.
Who are you?
We’re looking for someone with a strong technical background and a curious, collaborative mindset. You’re someone who enjoys working with both the big picture and the details, and you’re comfortable adapting to different challenges and people. Ideally, you have:
- A degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
- Experience with ester production or a solid foundation in chemical processes.
- The ability to balance hands-on problem-solving with strategic thinking.
- Strong communication skills—you can easily connect with both technical teams, operations personnel and business colleagues.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with a genuine interest in learning and sharing knowledge.
- Self-driven: Capable of working independently without needing strict guidelines, while confidently setting expectations for both themselves and others.
- Ability to travel 2-6 times per year
If you’re passionate about what you do and enjoy working in a supportive, team-oriented environment, we believe this role will suit you perfectly.
What can we offer?
At Perstorp, we offer a role with a mix of technical challenges and growth opportunities. You’ll work in a supportive, collaborative team and have the flexibility to balance travel and remote work.
We provide competitive benefits, meaningful work, and the chance to contribute to impactful projects in a company that values learning and innovation.
We invite you to apply for this rare opportunity and become a part of Perstorp’s mission. Don't miss out—submit your application before the deadline on 2025-02-02.
