Watch: Perstorp’s new state-of-the-art Penta plant in India soon operational
While attending Paint India 2022, Gorm Jensen, EVP Sales & Business Management and Jenny Klevås, Global Marketing Director spoke to Indian Chemical News to discuss the latest progress regarding Perstorp’s major investment in the region.
Construction of the new site in Gujarat commenced in 2019 and commercial production is projected to begin in Q2 2023. When fully operational, the site will employ 120 people. ‘’We are progressing very well, and I am happy to report that we are keeping up the time plan and will have the site operational in second quarter of next year’’, says Gorm Jensen.
The new plant will produce Pentaerythritol (Penta) as well as its renewable equivalent Voxtar™, offering customers a reduced carbon footprint. Designed to produce 40 KT of Penta per annum, the site will significantly expand Perstorp’s production capacity.
Penta has a vast range of application areas, being an essential building block ingredient in coatings, as well synthetic lubricants and antioxidants. The Gujarat investment will reinforce Perstorp’s ability to meet growing demand, particularly in Asian markets.
