Interview with Patricia Oddshammar
Interview with Patricia Oddshammar
Could you please introduce yourself?
My name is Patricia Oddshammar and I was born on a horse farm in the Southern parts of Sweden. I grew up with an entrepreneurial father and a mother who spend her time working with feed optimization for dairy cows. Therefore my grandfather was my big daily hero and with him I spent all time available training horses. Usually I would ride 5-6 horses per day and clean 10 stalls before school. I studied economics at Uppsala University with the intention of becoming a Derivate Trader, but towards the end of my education I found myself working at establishing organic certification programs around the globe instead. It gave me taste for the international arena and sooner than later I had landed in the US. In 2005 I became the mother of triplets, Victor, Alexander and Joey and one year later I had to experience a tragic death of one of my sons. Today I live in Ängelholm together with my “sambo” Gunnar and together we have five kids and two horses.
Where did you work before your current position?
My last position was with Perstorp where I juggled many different tasks in my job as a VP of Strategic Development, I was e.g the Global Project Manager for Valerox and Business Unit Manager for PIA. Prior to joining Perstorp in 2008 I lived in the US and worked on Wall Street. I have never been afraid of trying something new.
What do you like about your job?
It is a diversified role and it has the perfect blend of challenges and opportunities. I am in a great environment with good people and one of the best platforms in the industry.
What kind of goals do you want to achieve with Perstorp?
There are of course many “hard facts” goals that we need to achieve, such as the budget and growth plan that we have all committed ourselves to, but for this team specifically one major target is to strengthen the collaboration between Waspik and the Swedish team.
Could you tell us something about the industry you're in and how you see its future?
The chemical industry of Europe continues to face many challenges with high cost for raw materials and mature products. Therefore it will be essential to package solutions to our customers, reduce costs, develop new products and expand outside in growth markets.
What is your career plan for next 5 years?
My plan for the next five years is of course to further strengthen and develop the BU Feed & Food.
Do you have a question for the next person we will interview for this newsletter?
How do you believe Perstorp can further strengthen its Feed brands?
