Giving leather a soft superior finish
Sodium Formate and Formic Acid are both used in the tanning industry. Formic Acid is used in the leather industry for tanning, dyeing and sterilization of skins and hides.
It cleans and softens leather and creates superior finishes, such as suede. Sodium Formate is also used in several steps of leather tanning, where it acts as a general pH-neutralizer.
