Perstorp takes to the ice
We feel that this initiative is completely in line with our profile. Rögle is our local team and advancing to the “Elitserien” (Swedish Elite League) means national attention will increase dramatically. Perstorp and Rögle are both brands that have been around a long time with good reputations, but have been in the background in Sweden recently. Two established newcomers are now taking a leap forward together,” says Perstorp’s CEO, Bo Dankis.
Perstorp hasn’t invested in sponsoring sports teams to this extent previously. But when Rögle was promoted to the highest league in Swedish ice hockey we saw an opportunity to profile our brand in Sweden in a positive context.
“Perstorp doesn’t want to be secretive any more. We’re expanding and we want people to know that. That we chose Rögle was quite natural. They work in a way that we want to be associated with and our largest production site in Perstorp is not far from the team’s hometown of Ängelholm. We hope to be able to help Rögle achieve sporting success for many years to come,” says Bo.
Because of its promotion to the “Elitserien” the Rögle BK brand has also strengthened its position. It can now provide a completely different kind of overall solution for its partners. The greater interest from both the general public and the media means that sponsors gain more through partnerships.
“Many companies see the opportunities of being exposed via the positive relationship that Rögle can provide. We were very pleased when Perstorp agreed to sponsor us. We are both strong, locally-based, brands. Both are associated with development and innovative investments. So we have a lot in common,” says Camilla Bjuvstrand-Svab, Marketing Manager at Rögle BK.
The Perstorp logo will be seen on the players’ kit and helmets and on the boards around the rink in the recently built Lindab Arena. The partnership agreement will initially run for one year, but both parties hope it will continue after that.
